Now I have to get the outside done with Mr. Christmas light scrooge. I usually have to promise some sort of "special favors" or bribes to get the lights on the house. All I have been hearing lately every time I casually bring it up are things like "I don't think lights go on our type of house" and "They don't make ladders big enough to get up on our house" and "someone told me we weren't supposed to do lights this year" and "call Brian Macnamara, he'll put them up for you" those kind of responses. H i l a r i o u s. Wish me luck.
EDIT: Mark went out to lunch with his cousin and when he came back he just dug right in and started putting the lights up. I think it helped that I was out cleaning out the garage. :D He even did the top layer on the 2nd floor! And he was so cheerful the whole time!! I wanted to ask what he had done with my christmas light-hating husband but I didn't even dare joke and accidentally break the spell! LOL THEN to top it off he came in the house after and hung my beautiful new station clock that my mom got me for my birthday. (I'ts been waiting so patiently since september!)
Can you see it in the background?? It looks like a Santa Clock, I LOVE it!

Thanks for offering up all the help but luckily the body snatchers came over for the morning and took care of business! LOL

He even made sure all the bulbs were pointed the right way! Now I still need to do around the doorway, but I think it looks pretty good, not too much but still festive. Its a Festivus miracle!!

Janel,
Good job on your Christmasing! I think the tree looks really pretty but ribbon does add that special flair and those Ting Tings are very fun. They have those at Wal-Mart. I do many trees in my house and I always had one in my bedroom growing up and so my kiddos have a tree in their rooms that they can make decorations for themselves and decorate. Each year is a new theme depending on what they are into at the time. I also make a new ornament that is the same for each child every year so when they move out they have some of their own ornaments to start with.
As for the lights my son has been hanging lights for a company on the weekends. It is easy and we have a latter if you need to borrow it or need help. You don't want to step on those tile shingles they break very easily.
I would love some advice on working out. You look great and are an inspiration to me. Through depression and not taking care of me I have let myself become the person I never wanted to be. I have a stomach that is getting in the way of traditional workouts any tips or ideas would be much appreciated.
Good luck with your lights. Now that I have written a novel to you I better go. he he
Have a great day.
Hugs, Bobbi Jo
Pretty Tree.
And as my mom said we have a ladder, oh and while we are offering things you can just have my brother and he can hang up your lights.
Don't let him know I offered his service, he has me for Christmas this year.
How ever you decide to get them up good luck!
Noah was bummin when he needed Marks ladder to put up our lights.
Great job on the tree. I still need to do that!
Hey, I'm having a bead party tomorrow night if you want to come into to town and eat some yummy cinnamon rolls. YOu could make Sadie a neclace! Come!
Mark is so stinking awesome.
I love those body snatchers! We are still waiting on the lights outside. We have the most kiddos in our neighborhood yet NO lights outside. My hubby said that is why we are too busy doing other things. So we are going to do them tomorrow morning after kiddos go to school.
If you are serious I would love help with yummy healthy meals. I love to cook unfortunately I cook like the Amish. he he Maybe some time when you have time I can do that. You are so sweet! I would still love more ideas on the workout. I try not to be limited but I feel like a fool. The house looks so pretty! I just love Christmas time. Hugs, Bobbi Jo
Everything looks so pretty! Chandler had to hang up one strand of lights and complained at first then just did it. One strand of lights. come on. Maybe we can get together next week!
Love, love, love the clock!! Scott was feeling the Elgin Street pressure to get the lights up and he says to me "I miss Mark...he wouldn't have his lights up yet, he hates putting up lights". Something else I've been dying to tell you - Becky Larson was making a gratitude tree for Brady's preschool Thanksgiving party...she asked him who or what he was thankful for and he says "Mark and Janel", kid you not! So she wrote it on the leaf and there it sat on the gratitude tree - too funny! She said she laughed so hard as did all the parents at the Thannksgiving party when she told the story.
I was lucky this year since Dustin's brothers were in town and they helped put up the lights. Our new neighbors have a ladder, so we survived without Mark. There was a LOT of pressure to get lights up this year since the Poulson's had theirs up on Veteran's Day. We beat the Krassows though ;D
