Tough......Love

Did anyone else ever think that the "tough" part of love is actually more for the giver than the reciever?? I love these kiddos to death, seriously, but GRRRRRRRR!

Not much to tell.....

Last week Cade made the coolest project for school. He had to make a 3-D brain and label the parts. My creative child decided he wanted to use a potato. So this is what he came up with:

He carved the texture into it himself and then we used a another unpeeled piece for the cerebellum and carrots for the brain stem. I thought it was brilliant! Then he used markers to color the different sections and did a color coded key on a separate paper. It looked very cool. His teacher loved it! Everybody used clay, his was the only original one. He got an A+++.

Last night for FHE we took the kids to Golden Corral for dinner. It was really yummy and not that expensive! Kids meals there are like 3.69, which hello, is cheaper than a stinkin happy meal and they get the full run of the buffet! And of course my boys think they've died and gone to heaven LOL It was very cool and I stuck tight to my diet and Mark got some custom made steaks. Fun times!

Wierd stuff

First of all, I had a super fun GNO to the temple and dinner with my Cooper Ward buds Tuesday night, thanks you guys, it was a blast!

Secondly, I had to do the craziest thing last night. I had to sit down with Cade and Sadie and pick out their electives and class schedules for next year when they are in Middle school. What?? They are taking Home Ec, Art, Guitar 2, Chorus, stuff like that. WHAT?? How old are my kids getting?? Yikes! It feels wierd, really wierd.

Thirdly, I am married to a total genius, who can just sit down at a computer for a couple hours with no prior knowledge and experience and put together a website and awesome logo for our popcorn biz. He just.......put it together. He's never taken a class or even asked anybody how to get started. It's not finished yet, you can't order anything yet but it is working and it is looking so cute! If you want to see it it is www.uncleredz.com Sory I dont know how to imbed the site...I'm a computer retard. its a miracle I can even change my background :D Anyway we are very impressed with Marks computer skillzzzzzz.

Hey Hey hey!!

Well so many things going on. We just got back from Las Vegas a little while ago. It was SO fun! It was actually a business trip, but we made the most of it. We ate. A lot. I mean a LOT, and it was soooooo good! The seafood buffet at the RIO did not dissapoint. And I sure do love those fresh made omlettes for breakfast. MMMM! We got a room for 25 bucks, and it was a really nice room with a good bed and pillows. Mark had MLK day off so we took advantage. I hate people being all mysterious about what they are up to, so here is what we have going on.

Well I have been whining to everyone who will listen about how bummed we are that Mark can't work any extra hours anymore. He worked 40 hours last week and it was like a vacation compared to what he is used to. We've known for a while about it but now it is going to actually start affecting us BIGtime so we have to do something to make a little extra. He had the idea to sell this really yummmy popcorn we make as a side business at venues and such. Of course once you start getting into all the details of actually getting licenses and packaging and designing lables and all that it gets a bit much. Not impossible by any stretch, but its a LOT. So long story short we got connected with some people who want to try to package our popcorn for us and make our lives a gazillion degrees easier, so we went to meet with them, see their operation and talk turkey so to speak. It was a REALLY good meeting, we got a lot of questions answered and we really like this idea. I will be sending them our recipe and we will have to try to adapt it to a bulk processing, which may or may not work. In addition we were able to see their product and we really like it and may will be doing some outside sales for them blah blah blah. We really liked them and what they are doing with their business and how they are doing it so it would be a good venture. There are still a few things we have to decide on/work out before we know if we can for sure go forward with it all but it looks really good. There are a LOT of possibilities and different directions to go. It was great to get some feedback from someone who has done what we want to do. It is exciting! They really liked our popcorn too, he ate a bunch of it and they don't have one that tastes like that either. Its exciting! But I see a LOT of work ahead of us. We have another couple doing this with us which is really good, to help us figure this all out. It has been really fun so far.

So that is our big thing going on. It will be the perfect side business for Mark on his days off and me with the kids getting bigger and in school and all. Don't worry I'll still be doing hair :D

So now we are back, we missed the kiddos(OK we were gone for a whopping 30 hours! LOL) but life starts early in the morning and we are tired, its been a big long day.

Because I love you SO much!

I updated my Blogroll finally. I just have so many blogs to follow and I keep missing some peoples updates so I had to do it. So if you are one of those SLACKERS who never update you are going to fall down down the list :( So ya better get it in GEAR. Right, like I can talk. I also added some cousins (Lambs) to the list, hope they don't mind if I blogstalk them too. I'm a little bummed because I like to have my peeps organized and I liked my clever names for the groups, but I can't figure out how to do that and I'm NOT redoing it because it was so time consuming.

We spoke in church today, it went well. Cade did so awesome and wrote his own talk and it was excellent. Mark and I both wish we could have used his ideas. We had a fun family dinner tonight. It was kind of late but we all sat together and talked and it was really fun. Now I gotta get to bed to get serious about TCB'n (Takin Care of Business) this week. Mark is on another training so he is on days for the next couple weeks. We have weekends free now for a little while. Who wants to go out?? :D

Whats up?

Well not much to tell. There is just not much going on these days that is blog worthy. I've been focusing on exercising and food and stuff which I have been updating on my other blog. I guess I could bore you with my exciting adventures in copier/printer drama.......Damn you Cyan ink!!!!! LOL We have to speak in church tomorrow......AGAIN! We just spoke in August when we moved in the ward, but OK whatever. Its not a big deal I don't mind that much. I would be liking it more if I could print out my TALK!!!! ARG! It's OK I'll just e-mail it my neighbor to print off for me. Stupid ink.

Who's Excited for American Idol??? ME!!!

And the Party goes on.......

We had such a fun time in Thatcher with my family. Actually on New Year's we kind of drug up and went to bed early with no hoo-rah. However Thursday and Friday night we really partied it up. We started playing games and just couldn't stop. We laughed and had so much fun and ate way way too much junk food till after 1 am on Thursday and after 2am on Friday. It was my bro Jason, my sis Emily, her boyfriend Trent and my parents. We played Phase 10 (which I won) and then Scattergories. We hadn't played that one since our big trips to Canada back in the day. After my dad joined in, I remembered why! LOL Just kidding (sort of) we just pretended he was one of the kids. Yeah, ok, sure, dad, We'll give it to you. LOL So after having to get up at a decent hour on Saturday and driving home, I've been pretty wiped out. I'm almost caught up now. Along with late night games we also made the most of the country and had a fire like we usually do.

My kids are a bunch of Pyros! We had a weenie roast and then I made some wicked awesome S'mores.

Also at the top of the agenda for a Thatcher trip is my dad's new VERY authentic Swedish Sauna. Complete with wood burning stove to heat the rocks and hot water trough. If you are legit you call it a "Sow-nah" but I am not legit because I choose to pronounce it like a regular joe and call it a "sah-nah". I still enjoyed it. It is made of real cedar and barn wood, it is lit only with real kerosene lanterns, and to rinse off you have to use an authentic sauna bucket. I love it because he takes the boys and he cleans them up and washes their hair for me. They come in all rosy and smooth. My dad made the sauna himself (with only a little help) for all of us and it is prettty sweet! We love it, dad!

This wood block hanging in this upper picture is what weighs down the door to keep it closed. Like I said, authentic!

Front View, notice the door handle made from real antler....inner door is too. This front part is actually soon to be a weight room, the sauna is in the back of the building.

My parents took us all to lunch at the Taylor Freeze. You know the kind of place, they have them in the little towns, with the super yummy burgers and shakes. Where you always go in to order because the drive thru takes half an hour. It makes me miss the Polar Queen and Daley Freeze in Payson UT.

This is the kind of fun stuff we do in Thatcher. It's kind of like going to a cabin except it is a regular house and my family takes care of us and lets us eat all their food :D And my mom keeps my laundry done for me if I bring it up. We LOVE Thatcher!
FYI I am making my fitness blog public (as soon as I take off some pictures! LOL) just because I need the accountability. Not that you need to read it, but now you can if you are bored.
