Summer blues

Summer sucks in Arizona!!! The kids being home all day has been quite a shock to the system. I'm so used to having most of them out of my hair, that this has been a rough week. HAHA too bad for me that its only MONDAY!! GAH! They are SO bored, and driving me crazy and making it impossible to get anything done. I'm having flashbacks to the years when they were all underfoot as toddlers and preschoolers and I'd look back at my day and realize I had acomplished nothing. None of the big kids have any friends in town except Sadie, they all want me to take them all these places like the music store to play on the guitars (which I'm sure the employees LOVE) or go to Circle K to get a treat, or go swimming, etc etc. They want to do all these things every DAY. The whining and fighting and making messes is unbearable!! Its not helping that my life is turned upside down, my house is a mess with clutter that is stuff that has been "packed" and it is suffocating me!! And even worse, its making me very unmotivated. Oh man, get me outta here!! Mark and I are both at the end of our ropes!! I had to call him today at work to make sure it wasn't "Take your 4 boys to work day", and unfortunately, it wasn't. I realize that every family in America right now is experiencing this, but it dosen't make it any easier. My dad offered to take the 3 big kids to Thatcher early for the weekend (thurs. night) and I may have to take him up on it. Sorry mom!! LOL

I'm not making this up.....

SO we go today to see Cade play in this show, right?? We sit down, the house lights go down, and a man and woman appear. The man speaks a few lines. The woman starts singing. The man speaks again. Then the woman sings again. Marks head jerks in my direction:

(M): Is this a MUSICAL???!!
(J): Um, yeah, its called '1856 the MUSICAL'
(M): Well I didn't think there would actually be SINGing, I thought they called it that just for fun or something.

He's hopeless. I give up. Its like the time he truly was proud of himself when he was trying to eat healthy, because he carefully chose chicken wings for lunch. Because its chicken, which is healthy, right?? Ay yiyi. At least I have my very own personal comedian to entertain me all day long. Sheesh.

Today I got brave (and as a favor to my neice in Panama) and I went to the Old Navy sale, with 50% off a bunch of stuff and flip flops for $1. I overheard from my checkout girl that 200 people were in line before the doors opened. I got there about an hour after that, so you can imagine the mayhem. It literally was like the day after Thanksgiving or something. And most people were just buying flip flops!!! There was a limit of 5 pair so people were recruiting their kids and handing them cash in line behind them and getting like 15-20 pairs. What are they doing with all of those flip flops?? Wierd! I just got my 5 pairs because I was alone, and I didn't feel like digging thorugh all of the boxes of rubber. I waited in the checkout line for about 45 minutes. It wasn't too big of a deal because I was by myself and I did get some cute school clothes for the kids. I didn't pay more than 6 dollars for anything. But seriously, there must have been 200 poeple in line to check out. Ca-rayzee!

House update!!

Wellllllll..........I just got the call.........The bank ACCEPTED OUR OFFER!!!! They will take 200K!!! Yes I'm a dork that everyone knows how much we are paying for our house which I know is totally tacky but I don't care!! When he called and I realized it was Travis(our awesome realtor!) on the phone at 5 pm on a friday...It was like I was in the twilight zone for a second...the moment of truth. Oh it was a scary moment. I almost started crying when he told me. So now we can get the contract signed tonight (Travis is bringing it over) and Heather will get it into the system this weekend so monday we should be ready to roll. Talk about a "WHEW" moment!!!

Can I just give a shout out to our dear friends Scott and Casey......They went through the temple this week and today were sealed with their darling kiddos. We got to be front and center with them through this whole journey since before their baptism, and it has been such a fabulous experience. My point is (besides that we love them and are so happy for them!) is that the timing of getting to experience it all with them this week has really been a bright spot that got me through all of this ridiculous house stuff. On one hand I had one of the most difficult things to deal with with this house, and on the other hand one of the best positive, bright things with our friends, and I will gladly admit that the bright spot overtook the whole mess and got me through it. Life is so crazy sometimes!!!!

Now tomorrow I get to go watch my darling kiddo Cade sing and play the mandolin on stage in 1856 the musical and I can't wait! I wish everyone knew how talented he is, he is improving all the time and is already off the chain!! Also, we are taking some non-member friends, I think they will really like it. If you possibly can go see it, it is an excellent show. Its in the Ikeda Theater in the Mesa Arts Center. Have a great weekend!

SYTYCD

How much am I loving SoYouThinkYouCanDance this year??? Wow they just really blew me away last night. If they had had a show like this when I was about 12 years old.....my life would have been completely changed!! I have loved every week so far. Before last night my favorite was No Air, but now my new favorite is Bleeding Love. Those 2 (Chelsea H and Mark)arent my faves to win it, but as a couple and with the off the hook choreography they have been lucky enough to get, they totally stole the night. Napoleon and Tabitha are the BOMB! Actually their stuff reminds me a little of the one that Ivan and Allison did to Sexy Love in season 2. That was one of my favorites and they are doing more of that style that I love. Anyway, while I was watching Bleeding Love last night I seriously think I forgot to breathe, they acted it so well besides dancing it so amazing. YAY!!

May favorites to win it all??? DEFinetly Will, that guy is insane. I can totally see why Debbie Allen stepped aside to let him do the show, although I think someone that good with those kind of connections should be working already anyway. My favorite from the very beginning since auditions has been Joshua. He auditioned as a breaker, but when when he did his vegas ticket dance he did this amazing turn-extension thing and I was like....WHA?? This guy is going to be awesome! He and Katee have been really killing it every week too. Also, I'm loving Twitch. He and Carrington are adorable and he's another breaker that does everything else too. I don't really have a favorite girl this year. So far the guys are way better.

Going home tonight: Comfort and Chris, for sure.
